As a Senior Life Science Professional in Cancer Research, I currently play a role in contributing to the advancement of medicine that helps patients find hope in a place where no hope can be found.
As a Black women in Healthcare, I am well aware of the Health Inequalities that disrupt the lives of those who looks like me. Historically minorities have been faulted by a medical system that was never designed to include them. I refused to standby and watch the mortality rate of my community increase due to medical racism. Therefore, I’ve decided to use my passion and knowledge of the industry to provide a solution to an unresolved problem within my community. Thus, OurHealth, LLC a Healthcare Technology and App Start-Up is born.
OurHealth is a tech start up that connects more African American, and Latino communities with culturally competent doctors, and resources that specifically caters to our unique needs for better health outcomes. It is my mission and the mission of OurHealth to disrupt Health Inequalities and advocate for Diversity and Inclusion for our community. This innovation is derived from my own personal experiences within healthcare and from necessity. I believe in harnessing the strengths in my community not only mentally and financially but also physically (health). Healthcare is the gift you give yourself daily and my community deserves better health outcomes their way!
